Service Description:
We provide first aid courses in accordance with Decree 398/2010 on the minimum requirements for first aid courses.
Main objectives of the course:
SCOPE OF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICAL SKILLS FOR COURSE PARTICIPANTS:
A. Theoretical knowledge of
1. the causes, consequences and solutions of the most common sudden events of traumatic and non-traumatic origin threatening life and health – newborn, child and adult,
2. preventive measures to improve health protection,
3. the role and place of first aid in emergency healthcare,
4. the general principles of first aid,
5. assessment of the condition of the person affected, rescue, relocation, activation of the rescue system,
6. basic life-saving actions,
7. disorders of consciousness, such as unconsciousness,
8. respiratory disturbances, e.g. choking,
9. seizure conditions – febrile convulsions, epilepsy,
10. bleeding wounds, shock,
11. fractures, joint injuries, burns,
12. non-traumatic sudden events that can be the cause of any accident – heart failure, sudden stroke,
13. provision of first aid for suspected spinal injuries.
B. Practical skills
1. assessing the situation with a focus on minimising the risk of further endangering yourself, the person affected and other persons, marking the accident scene,
2. activating the emergency medical service and other components of the integrated rescue system,
3. detecting signs of illness or injury,
4. practical training – basic emergency life support – airway clearance, lung-to-lung breathing, chest compressions (cardiac massage), stopping bleeding, stabilised position, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (resuscitation), including the use of automatic external defibrillation,
5. first aid for
a) disturbances of consciousness,
b) respiratory disturbances, choking, convulsions,
c) fractures and joint injuries,
d) bleeding wounds, shock,
e) spinal injuries, patient handling,
f) non-traumatic sudden events which may be the cause of an accident – heart attack, sudden stroke,
6. providing psychological support to the person affected,
7. handing over the disabled person to the emergency medical service.
